„Carillons – the Sound of Gdańsk”
Carillons – the Sound of Gdańsk is an outdoor exhibition created in cooperation between the Museum of Gdansk and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. The boards were designed by Natalia Hawrylik as part of the course taught by Dr Anita Wasik and Joanna Czaplewska in the Design for Culture Studio, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. The project was supervised by Prof. Danuta Popinigis from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
The exhibition is presented in front of the entrance to St. Catherine Church in Gdańsk. The building of this oldest parish church in the Old Town of Gdańsk hosts the largest carillon in Poland. It consists of fifty bells. The Gdańsk Museum of Science, a branch of the Museum of Gdańsk, has its headquarters in the Church’s tower.
The exhibition is available until the end of September 2021.
