In 2007 she graduated at the Royal Carillon School „Jef Denyn” in Mechelen as a professional carillonneur. Since 2010 she teaches carillon, campanology and music theory at the Royal Carillon School. At this school she is also the proud conductor of ‘Akabella’, the handbell choir of the carillon school. Dina also teaches carillon at the Higher Institute for Music & Pedagogy (IMEP) in Namen. She is the carillonneur of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-over-de-Dijlekerk in Mechelen. Very recently she was officially appointed carillonneur of the new carillon (2017) in Puurs-Sint-Amands. She followed several masterclasses for carillon, singing and dancing. She has a broad taste in music and she performed in different genres, from renaissance music to contemporary folk music and tango. She plays several instruments, like carillon, clarinet, piano and organ. Dina sings in the ensembles Vocem Flentium and Kampa Kampa.

    RICHARD DE WAARDT

(*1982) studied at the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denyn” in Mechelen, Belgium. He graduated in 2010 with Great Distinction. Richard won several prices on international carillon competitions and plays concerts all over the world. Since 2012 he is the city-carillonneur of Rotterdam where he plays the historic Hemony carillon (1660) of the St. Laurenschurch and the grand carillon (63 Petit & Fritsen bells) of city hall. Since 2019 Richard is also city-carillonneur of Tholen (Zeeland – The Netherlands) where he plays two very charming instruments. Besides his regular weekly recitals Richard is very active organizing carillon projects and concerts for young and old. Last year, with the help of the mayor of Rotterdam Ahmed Aboutaleb and 50 children, Richard launched the Great Rotterdam Songbook: a collection of 170 songs. Rotterdam has +/- 170 nationalities. Richard collected a folksong or children’s song for every nationality. Since 2019 all the songs play on a daily basis on the carillons in the city. Besides his passion for the bells Richard spends his time on a more portable instrument: the accordeon. Together with his wife Dina he forms the musical quartet Kampa Kampa!. They play a contemporary mix of folk music, tango’s, jazz and chansons. As an arranger Richard works freelance for the Bell Foundry “Royal Eijsbouts” where he arranges songs for automatic chimes all over the world. Richard is also the founder of “Daar Zit Muziek In”. A musical company that focusses on music-education, workshops and concerts, on primary schools.
